Buli is named after the buri palm. Alabang is named after the river that passes throughout the barangay. Ayala Alabang was made by Batas Pambansa Bilang 219 outside of Barangay Alabang. Sucat got its name in the vernacular word "sukat", which suggests "measurement" because it was measured during the Spanish era.Inside the International Phonetic Alp
